This project starts with a study of the courtyard. What makes the courtyard timeless is that it provides a controlled exterior space, it guarantees climate and environmental conditions and it provides an introversion of the building through the courtyard.

The idea is to renew the courtyard and make it for the future. This is done through attaching the building to a permanent lasting place, merging it with the landscape and, at the same time, introducing the landscape into the courtyard. This is why the chosen place is a rock island in a lake on the top of the Pyrenees.

The building is a small Buddhist Monastery placed completely cut into the rock, becoming part of it. All the way to reach the building and the mysterious corridor you have to walk to reach its centre is what creates the Secret Courtyard.
